Your New Patient Journey

16 June 2020
Your safety is our priority – these are the measures we have put in place to ensure we keep you safe in our practice:

Upon arrival to the practice, please wear a face covering at all times (unless you aren’t able to for medical reasons), sanitise your hands using our station, and keep a safe distance from others where possible. We will also only be allowing 2 patients/2 household bubbles into the practice at any given time to enable social distancing, so we thank you in advance for your patience. Our staff are being tested using lateral flow twice weekly.

We ask that you refrain from using our services if you, or a member of your household, have any symptoms of Covid-19 or have tested positive for the virus.

A lot has changed since we last welcomed you all into the practice and we are working very hard behind the scenes to ensure all our patients and staff members are kept safe. We want to share how we are going to do this with you.

Hand sanitising station

As soon as you enter our doors you will see a hand sanitising station, along with hand sanitiser throughout the practice, from the reception desk to the consulting room.

All patients will receive a pre screening phone call before attending

What does this mean? Before you come into the practice, we will be calling you to get as much information as possible about your requirements. This will ensure we can help you as efficiently as possible when you arrive.

Full PPE for our team members

Our staff will be fully equipped with gloves, aprons, surgical masks and plastic visors.

All visitors will be asked to wear their own face covering

Please note that this does not have to be a surgical mask. Children under the age of 11, people with disabilities or breathing difficulties or those accompanying someone who relies on lip reading are exempt from wearing a face covering.

One person in and one person out for certain appointments

For eye examinations, collections and dispensing we will have a one in and one out policy to ensure social distancing requirements are met.

2 Metre social distancing in place

We are placing floor markings throughout the practice to help you social distance with others as much as possible.

Open doors

We will be opening our doors routinely to allow increased air circulation.

Even more regular handwashing

We’ve always practiced excellent hygiene here at G&S and our staff will continue to wash their hands regularly between seeing each patient.

Keeping things clean

We will be cleaning our surfaces more than usual. When you try frames on, instead of putting them back on the shelf, we will pop them in our UVC cleaner to sanitise them so they are clean and ready for the next person to try on. We are also extending testing time to ensure we can deep clean in rediness for the next patient. We will also complete a deep clean of all key areas of the practice at the end of each day.

It is our duty to ensure every one of our patients is safe during the ongoing covid-19 pandemic. If you have any queries or concerns, please contact us via [email protected].

We look forward to seeing you all again soon!
